Hosting at home without spending the evening in the kitchen
The problem with an at-home reception is almost never the cooking itself: it is that the person hosting ends up never seeing their guests. They bring out the dishes, they clear, they refill, and they spend the evening between the table and the sink.
We take that part on. Depending on the format chosen, the service ranges from delivering dishes ready to serve, through to a team that sets up, serves and clears away entirely.
What we adapt to a private venue
- The kitchen available: a home kitchen is not a catering pantry, and the menu is built around what can genuinely be reheated or plated on site.
- Circulation space: the number of guests a room takes standing is not the number it takes seated.
- Tableware: yours if you would rather use it, ours if you would rather wash nothing.
- The departure: we leave the kitchen as we found it.
The ingredient first
COMER was founded by an agronomist, and that still shapes how the menus are written: we start from what is good in that particular season rather than from a fixed list run all year round. On a private reception, where guest numbers stay manageable, that is where it shows most.
Your guests' diets and allergies are taken into account at quote stage, exactly as they are for a professional event.
Where we operate
We work in private homes and hired venues in Biarritz, Bayonne, Anglet, Bidart, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and the Basque Country. A detailed quote reaches you within 48 working hours.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a fully equipped kitchen at home?
No, but the kitchen available shapes the menu. A home kitchen is not a catering pantry: we build the proposal around what can genuinely be reheated or plated there, which is settled at quote stage.
Do you stay to serve, or only deliver?
Both are possible. Depending on the package, the service ranges from delivering dishes ready to serve through to a team that sets up, serves and clears away entirely. The kitchen is left as we found it.
How many guests can you cater for in a private home?
The limit almost always comes from the venue rather than from us: the number of guests a room takes standing is not the number it takes seated. We cater for 15 to 500 guests depending on the venue and the format.
Do you provide the tableware?
Yes if you would like us to. You can also use your own: it is a point settled at quote stage, alongside the question of who clears away.
